The Bank of England has today slashed interest rates by 1.5%! The base rate now stands at 3% - the lowest rate in living memory. Providing that the benefit of this base rate is passed on by the high street banks and mortgages providers many homeowners and potential purchasers will benefit. Homeowners with a £200,000 mortgage could save up to £250 per month.
